LIFE GOES ON

Italy qualified for the Euro 2020 final after beating Spain 4-2 on penalties (1-1 regular time and extra time) and await either England or Denmark on Sunday (12/7) .

At the end of the game against Italy Luis Enrique returned to the dressing room, put on music and turned up the volume.

“I'm tired of seeing guys in tournaments cry about a loss. In sports you win and lose and you actually learn more by losing. The players are disappointed, but nothing more. When you lose you have to congratulate your opponent and start again. We should not cry but get up and try again in the next tournament. I think the whole country is proud of this national team," he said.

You see, Luis Enrique in June 2019, two years ago, resigned from his position as the national coach to be next to his daughter, Hana, who was fighting cancer.

Hana didn't make it, she "left" in August of that year and Enrique was shocked by what he wrote on social media. "We will miss you dearly, but we will remember you every day of our lives in the hope that we will meet again in the future. You will be the star that leads our family."

Usually people experience such great, unimaginable pain only once in their lives. The pain comes again, and again, but finds a harder surface. Tears don't visit you often since then, of course, and life changes.

Enrique returned to Furia Roja in November 2019. He found the strength to return. He came back and opened his heart. He spoke his lament. He spoke of death, of loss. He said his life was a constant nightmare. He said that when he woke up from the nightmare, he was watching football. He also said that the "battle" of the Spanish National Team in the Euro is child's play after what he has experienced.

So, after being eliminated by Italy on penalties, Luis Enrique returned to the dressing room, put on music, turned up the volume.
